pre-Easter fun and a tooth!

We had such a fun Easter weekend this year!
We decided to just stay in town and have Easter with the 3 of us since traveling a long way in the car with a baby who hates her car seat is not fun.
It was a little sad, but we made the best of it.

Before every holiday, Landon's company always lets them out half a day early,
so our fun started on Thursday afternoon!
I had an appt to get a cut and highlights, so LB was on daddy duty.
He brought li li up to the salon about halfway through so he could also get his hair cut and so I could feed her, since she is a naughty baby with that bottle lately.

And he brought me up some Whataburger fries. I've been weirdly obsessed with them since about 2 months before I had Linley.
I don't know what the deal is. Can't get enough.

Friday I ran a few last minute Easter errands.
I had to get a few more things for Easter baskets, and for our lunch.

With the little wild woman.
She's turned into a crazy girl whenever I hold her lately.
Always wants to be standing!

We had ordered a dining table (finally! feel like real adults now:) )
so Landon waited around on it to be delivered and cooked out some yummy dinner for us.
On the weekends he always takes on dinner and breakfast duty.
I love it and appreciate it SO much.

Oh and we figured out Linley got her first tooth!
I was sitting in the back with her on our way to World Market and she grabbed my finger and took a bite of it.
She does it a lot but this time I felt a tooth and it HURT!
 Such a big girl!!

Saturday Landon tackled our table so we could sit at it for Easter lunch.
I supervised and made a Starbucks run for us. :)

Such a good daddy doing projects for me on the weekend!

We went to Chipotle for a late lunch date then made a run to Target.

I was just looking for a rug for our bedroom, but good grief I can never get out of that store without spending all of my money.

Oh and this weekend my parents booked us a vacation for this summer to St. Marten!
Kind of nervous about taking Linley, but I can't wait to take my girl to the beach.
And I got a hat for vaca on our target trip-- sister you need one now!

....posting Easter day next!

Houston Rodeo!

Last Friday Landon was off,
so we met up with some friends at the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo.
Not even ashamed to admit how much I love a rodeo and fair.

Basically for the food.
We pretty much tried one of EVERYTHING while we were there.

We stayed for about 4 hours,
which was a little too long for me with a baby considering it was at least 80 outside.
But Linley did SO good.
She just strolled around and slept a little, read a little, and watched the animals.

The guys played games,
and rode rides,
and we saw so many baby piggies that now I'm convinced I need one.

 Camel rides!!
I totally wanted to do it, but was nervous.
Those things are huge!
Maybe next year.

Can't wait until L is big enough to ride the rides!

5 months.

Oh sweet girl, how are you 5 months old?!
I can't even believe it.
You are still the sweetest little baby.

You have turned into quite the little thumb sucker.
You are constantly sucking on your left thumb,
and your daddy and I think it's pretty much the cutest thing ever.

You have learned how to spit!
My how hilarious it is.
It's your newest trick.

I took you to the nursery this week for the first time while I went to a bible study.
You lasted 1.5 hours,
but then I got a call to come and get you;)
Good thing babies are welcome during the study or else I may not make it 6 weeks,
because you definitely know when your mommy is not holding you.
I didn't think babies had stranger anxiety already,
but I really think you do.
Me and daddy are your favorite.
It takes you a bit to warm up to everyone else, that's for sure.
But you do eventually!

You have started sleeping so much better!
And only on your tummy.
I think the day you learned you could roll over and go to sleep helped out SO much.
I don't want to jinx it,
but lately you have only had one wake up during the night and I feel like a new woman with all this sleep I'm getting!
Your naps are getting better too.
They are at least an hour and you take 2-3 of them.

Speaking of sleeping,
the last week and a half you have been sleeping in your very own crib!
The first night was a little rough,
but the very next night you slept 10 hours straight.
You are doing so great!
I really didn't want to move you upstairs all by yourself,
so I have been sleeping in the guest room next to yours.
I think next week though maybe I can leave you up there all alone.
MAYBE.:)

You are LOVING oatmeal.
We did rice for a couple of weeks,
but I felt like you were ready for the oatmeal and I was right!
I even mixed a little fruit in there a few days ago and you gobbled it right up.

You aren't sitting yet,
but you are trying!
I let you try a little by yourself and sit right behind you to catch you when you fall,
but you usually last at least a couple of seconds by yourself!
Big girl.

I can't even believe in one month you will be HALF A YEAR old!!

ketchup.

I was scrolling through my camera and iphone pics and found a few that I just didn't want to leave out and few recent happenings.

-the other day Landon brought these home.
I randomly found them on craigslist when I was listing a few things to sell,
and immediately emailed the seller to snag 'em.
they were $20 each! that's a steal I'd say.
I wanted a pair to reupholster, so I can't wait to decide what I want to do with them.

-I found a recipe for a crock pot roasted chicken and since we love a rotisserie chicken, but I don't love that they are $8 for a teeny chick,
I had to try it.
this recipe is a keeper!!! easy peasy and delish.

-this girl and her eyebrow.
cracks me up.

-a few weekends ago we went to San Antonio for my niece's 3rd birthday.
It was the cutest little Tinkerbell/Neverland party, and how lucky am I that I married Peter Pan?!

little girl at her very first birthday party!!

-and a few pics with our little valentine!

I know I have lots more to post, but this is good enough for now--
I'll be caught up one day:))

the weekend.

I'm trying to get back into my old blogging routine so that I can remember all of our days with our little one. I post on insta regularly, but I have been using that in place of blogging. So anyway, here goes..

A few bullets for ya..

-this weekend started on Thursday night for us because it was Landon's friday off. Friday I had a dentist appointment, so Landon took Linley to Lowe's. So funny. Glad she can take my place in that store...
-we decided to try some sleep training with L this weekend. She is 4 months and has majorly screwed up her 6-8 hour sleep stretches, so as much as I hate it, it was time. She screamed for a while, but then flipped over to her tummy and passed out. I was worried all night, but we got 6 hours out of her and she has slept on her tummy every night since then so I am thinking tummy sleeping is here to stay for this girl!

-Saturday we ran errands, went to HEB, and after the girl went to bed Landon grilled us steaks for dinner. It's officially grilling season in Houston!

-we started watching Game of Thrones- season 1 on Saturday night. Can I just say, most INAPPROPRIATE show ever!!!! yet we are addicted....
-me and the girl did a little matchy matchy for church on Sunday. Don't even care that I'm that mom.

-daddy and baby. my 2 favorites.

-L has started sucking her thumb lately to soothe herself when she's upset. I don't really want it to become a habit, but it is so dang cute.

MY momma's birthday.

My momma's birthday was on the 24th, so to celebrate, my parents, grandparents, and sister all came to see us! We went out to dinner, had a yummy carrot cake, and just had a fun low-key weekend celebrating MOM.

After they left on Sunday, we walked to Target and bought Linley some rice cereal to try.
She loved it! Opened her mouth wide for each bite and grabbed for the spoon.
I can't wait until she gets to eat real food!

She loves those sugars from her daddy!!
